The protection performance of armored protection material is an important indicator in the armored protection material design and development process.At present the test of the protection performance of armored protection material is mainly through the shooting experiment,with bullets impacting on the armored protection material.Then according to national standards,the armored protection material is evaluated by manually measuring and recording the depth of the bullet hole and crack diameter after the shooting.It is a qualitative evaluation.The traditional detection method is roughly qualitative reflection of armored protection performance.It is not quantitative analysis.The existing test methods cannot meet the needs of scientific research and the actual development of products.Therefore,a method for quantitative evaluation of the protection performance of armored protection material is proposed,and a set of bullet impulse measurement system is designed.Quantitative analysis of the protection performance of armored protection material is by measuring the impact process and calculating the impulse during the process of impacting on the armored protection material.ANSYS finite element simulation is used to simulate the process of bullets impacting on the armored protection material.The penetration process of armored protection material is analyzed with the finite element software.It is very intuitive to get the destruction of the target plate at a high speed collision.The acceleration curve of the penetration process obtained by the finite element simulation can provide the basis for the frequency of the sensor.Then the key parameter(the frequency of the sensor)in the bullet impulse measurement system is deduced combined with the acceleration curve of the penetration process.The hardware system,software system and mechanical structure of the bullet impulse measurement system are designed.The software of the bullet impulse measurement system is written in the graphical programming language LabVIEW.It can show impact curve in real time.A laboratory simulation experiment is carried out on the designed bullet impulse measurement system,the impact of the sample material is measured,and the impulse is calculated.The final laboratory simulation results of the bullet impulse measurement system verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the bullet impulse measurement system.
