With the full opening of the two-child policy in China,the growth rate of the child population has set a new high record.For families that always attach importance to children’s education,popular science education accounts for a higher proportion of family expenditure.With the rapid growth of demand for popular science products,the quality of popular science education products for children on the market is uneven.There are few products that can really consider from the perspective of children’s cognition and needs and conform to the characteristics of children’s growth.Moreover,children’s access to the natural environment is reduced by the acceleration of urbanization.In view of these two phenomena,it is worthwhile for us to design a device that enables children to contact with nature and receive popular science knowledge in the urban environment.In this paper,relevant investigation and product type analysis are carried out on the existing children’s popular science education products and vegetable cultivation products on the market,and the functions of the two are extracted as the reference of product design,and the key functional elements and design principles of product design are obtained.In terms of children’s user research,the cognitive characteristics of preschool children are summarized based on the theory of children’s cognitive psychology,and the research elements of children’s users are determined.Through field interviews and observation,the cognitive model of children is established.By using the design method of goal-oriented design,the product demand framework is obtained,and the innovative design of the popular science device for children’s vegetable cultivation is finally integrated.This paper aims to provide some references for preschool children’s popular science product design,improve children’s popular science experience,enhance the interest of product in knowledge popular science,let children get close to nature,improve children’s cognitive ability,and finally provide new ideas for family vegetable planting products,andopen up the market.
