In recent years,with the rapid development of e-commerce,consumer's requirements on express quality are cont:inuously increasing.Air express delivery,which is high time efficiency,has become an important product for many domestic express delivery companies to enhance their competitiveness.S company is one of the earliest companies to develop air express business in China.At present,S company has formed a dual-hub aviation network structure,however such structure still suffers from several problems such as low resource utilization,unbalanced service and others.In order to further reduce operationl costs and enhance competitiveness,S company has started the construction of its own airports with the great support of national policies,and plan to build a world-class aviation hub.After the new airport is put into operation,serveral urgent operational problems appear.For example,how to re-organize the airline network and whether to retain the hub nodes in the current aviation network are seeking for answers.In this work,considering the actual situation of S company,the network structures of single-hub and multi-hub are screened according to three dimentions,including operational convenience,resource constrains and time constrains.After that,the single allocation hub-and-spoke network and s:ingle-hub hybrid network structures are taken into account.Second,based on the consideration of transportation cost and fixed cost of the whole-freight,the transit cost and the construction cost of airport hub,mixed integer programmimg models that minimize total cost are bulit for both type of aviation network,respectively.Then,an emperial dataset,along with an extended dataset,of S company is employed to derive the optimal schemes under each network structureby using the Lingo package.Finally,through the sensitivity analysis for construction cost of hub airport and the discount parameter among the hubs,this work provides multi-dimensional decision suggestions for air express network planning.
