Research On Urban Waterfront Landscape Design Based On Landscape Urbanism

Since ancient times,most people choose waterfront parts as theirhabitats.A lot of big cities are also originatd from water.Water can be described as the birth of human civilization.Waterfront not only bring convenient water transport for cities,but also bring a lot of economic benefits and cultural exchange opportunities.So waterfront plays a positive role in promoting the development of cities.With the development of many coastal cities go into a new stage in transforming and upgrading,people live along waterfront landscape also have a higher demands for landscape.Therefore the waterfront becomes the key zone that hosts the city public space quality improvement,optimization,ecological environment and cultural functions.Therefore,the urban waterfront landscape design has become the focus point in urban development.In this situation,the construction in urban waterfront sprang up.However,because of the urban design in our country starting relatively late,the relevant theory of city waterfront construction is relatively lack.And the current constructions are just imitate the western practice,lacking the consideration about the local sitution,which leads to the constructions too stereotyped and having no local characteristics.This phenomenon can be called "Thousand cities,one face".To deal with these problems,"Lanscape Urbanism Theory" as a new method of urban design gradually obtains people's identity and be applied to practice.And good results have been achieved.The principles and strategies this theory advocated also have great significance for urban waterfront landscape design.So,this paper hope to apply it in urban waterfront landscape design by studying the theory and summarize some general design strategy to provide some reference and guidance significance for futural designs.
