On the basis of summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of cantilever retaining wall,a new type of retaining structure,L-type box retaining wall,is creatively proposed. At the same time, through indoor model test and numerical simulation, the working characteristics and influencing factors of L-shaped box retaining wall and cantilever retaining wall are studied comparatively. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1?The model comparison test of L-shaped box retaining wall and cantilever retaining wall is carried out,and the distribution law of earth pressure behind the wall is discussed. The results show that the retaining capacity and deformation control ability of L-shaped box retaining wall are obviously better than cantilever retaining wall under the same material consumption and other conditions.2?The numerical simulation model of interaction between L-shaped box retaining wall and soil is established. The correctness of the numerical simulation results is verified by the indoor model test results. The distribution pattern of earth pressure behind L-shaped box retaining wall is obtained, which is triangular in the upper part and rectangular in the lower part.3?Based on FLAC3D numerical simulation software and combining with geotechnical design software, the corresponding relationship between stability coefficient and displacement of L-shaped box retaining wall is discussed, and the design idea of dual control of stability and deformation of L-shaped box retaining wall is put forward. The results show that the retaining capacity of L-shaped box retaining wall can be effectively improved by adjusting the weight and modulus of filling material.Ability of Controlling Deformation of Backfill behind Wall.
