Hybrid excitation synchronous generator combines the advantages of traditional permanent magnet synchronous generator and electric excitation synchronous generator,and has broad application prospects.In this paper,the arrangement,minimum solution area,design,performance calculation and experiment of permanent magnet poles and ferromagnetic poles of a hybrid excitation synchronous generator are studied.A hybrid pole permanent magnet synchronous generator with permanent magnet poles and ferromagnetic poles is proposed.Two sets of excitation windings are arranged on the rotor,which are called running excitation winding and demagnetizing excitation winding.The principle of air gap magnetic field regulation and the structural characteristics of two common arrangements of the permanent magnet poles and ferromagnetic poles of this kind of hybrid excitation generator are analyzed.The expressions of rotor magnetic permeability and the magnetomotive force are given,and the harmonic content is obtained.Based on the periodicity and semi-periodicity boundary conditions of electromagnetic field calculation,the harmonic frequency characteristics of air gap flux density in stator and rotor sides of this kind of hybrid excitation generator are deduced and analyzed from the perspective of air gap flux density,The minimum solution area of the unit machines and its electromagnetic field in stator and rotor sides respectively expressed by the number of magnetic poles is obtained,which can greatly reduce the calculation amount.By calculating and comparing the inductance parameters,core loss,torque and voltage waveform of the whole machine and the minimum solution area,and combining with the test results of two prototypes of hybrid pole permanent magnet synchronous machine,the correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified.The main dimensions of hybrid excitation generator,the ratio of permanent magnet poles to ferromagnetic poles,permanent magnet,running excitation winding and demagnetizing excitation winding are designed,the influence of air gap length and thickness of permanent magnet direction on machine performance is calculated and analyzed,and a design scheme of hybrid excitation generator is obtained.A prototype of hybrid excitation generator is manufactured,and a test platform of hybrid excitation generator prototype is built.The air gap magnetic field regulation characteristics,no-load characteristics,external characteristics and adjustment characteristics of the prototype are calculated and tested.The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental results,which verifies the feasibility of the hybrid excitation generator scheme.
