With the rapid development of the global Internet industry and the continuous expansion of the data center,the energy consumption and heat dissipation of data centers are also increasing.In order to ensure the normal operation of IT equipment in the data center,a corresponding cooling system is required to provide a safe operating environment for IT equipment.The energy consumption of cooling system is up to 40% of the total energy consumption of data center.Inadequate utilization of outdoor free cold sources and low supply air temperature are important reasons for the excessive energy consumption of data center cooling systems.Aiming at the reason of high energy consumption in data center,this article optimizes the data center cooling system in North China by adopting appropriate natural cooling methods and selecting the appropriate supply air temperature to reduce data center energy consumption.The main contents include:(1)Establish common natural cooling system models,including surface water thermal energy free cooling system,water side free cooling parallel system,water side natural free series system,air-cooled water side free cooling,direct air side free cooling,indirect air side free cooling.The control strategies of each system under different operating modes and the advantages and disadvantages of each system are analyzed.(2)Taking the data centers of Tianjin,Zhangbei and Yuncheng in North China as the research objects.The feasibility of free cooling in different cities,the influence of free cooling system forms and the supply air temperature on utilization days of free cold source,the influence of supply air temperature on the COP of chillers is sent to analyze the energy saving potential of free cooling in data centers in different cities in North China.(3)The energy consumption and water consumption of free cooling system in three urban data centers in North China are simulated and analyzed.Based on the simulation of the cooling load of the data center using DeST-c software,the TRNSYS construction simulation model of the free cooling system is established to simulate energy consumption and water consumption in different forms of free cooling system and different supply temperature.Establish energy consumption,water consumption and economic evaluation models of free cooling system in data center.Evaluate and analyze the comprehensive performance of data center in different free cooling system forms and different supply air temperature from three aspects of PUE,WUE and annual average cost,in order to find out more suitable free cooling system form and supply air in each city.The results show that in Tianjin and other cities with similar climate and resource conditions,direct air side free cooling system should be adopted,the supply air temperature should be reduced as much as possible,or ocean thermal energy free cooling system(surface water thermal energy free cooling system)should be adopted,and the supply air temperature should be increased as much as possible;In Zhangbei and other cities with similar climatic and resource conditions,direct air side free cooling system should be adopted,and the supply air temperature should be reduced as much as possible;In Yuncheng and other cities with similar climatic and resource conditions,river water thermal energy free cooling system(surface water thermal energy free cooling system)should be adopted,and the supply air temperature should be increased as much as possible;The comprehensive performance of free cooling system is not necessarily improved with the increasing of the supply air temperature or the adding of part free cooling mode.
