In the new era,with the improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength,the research on hydropower is also deepening,and has achieved fruitful results.The capacity of hydraulic units is constantly increasing,and large units are constantly put into production.The safety,reliability and stability of units in operation are particularly important.For vertical units,thrust bearing bears a huge axial thrust and the weight of the rotating part of the unit,and its operation status has become one of the important factors affecting the safety and stable operation of the whole unit.Therefore,in the selection and design stage of the unit,first of all,according to the characteristics of the unit,the performance of the thrust bearing cooling system;After the unit is put into operation,the running condition of thrust bearing should be constantly monitored.By consulting a large number of relevant literature,this paper based on the CFD technology,using flow field calculation software,the thrust bearing of a turbine generator of circulating flow field is calculated,analyzed and discussed the distribution of temperature field,velocity field,pressure field and the change rule,in order to improve the thrust bearing the cooling performance of the system’s recommendation,provide reference for the actual unit operation.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The mathematical model of oil flow field in the internal circulation cooling system of thrust bearing is established,different software is introduced,and the solving process of CFD calculation is expounded.(2)According to the actual size of the cooling system of the hydraulic unit studied,the professional CAE pre-treatment software ICEM CFD is used to establish a 3d model of the internal oil circulation cooling system and conduct grid division,and set corresponding boundary conditions.(3)According to the actual operation of the unit,different working conditions were determined in the simulation process,and Fluent software was used to calculate the distribution of corresponding field of different physical quantities of lubricating oil in the oil groove.(4)The simulation results under various working conditions are compared to find the similarities and differences,which can provide reference for the design,operation,installation and maintenance of some other similar units in China.
