Static Var Generator(SVG)is the representative of the latest technology in reactive power compensation field,which belongs to the important part of flexible AC transmission system(FACTS).SVG is a controllable reactive current source in parallel to the power grid,its reactive current can quickly follow the change of reactive power of the load.It compensates reactive power for reactive power of the power grid automatically,and realizes dynamic reactive power compensation to the reactive power of the power network.SVG has become a research and application hotspot in the field of harmonics and reactive power because of its advantages of good compensation ability,dynamic performance,diversity and flexibility of control,etc.In this paper,the research background,development and significance of SVG are introduced,and the development status,system composition,working principle and control strategy of SVG in China and abroad are analyzed.Matlab simulation software was used to build the system model,and load simulation was used to analyze the changes before and after the application of compensation current and the changes of reactive power flow in the circuit.The hardware structure and software design of SVG control system based on DSP are introduced,With TMS320C6713 chip as the control core,using DSP control board,IGBT driver,signal acquisition and conditioning circuit and so on part.The main program,FFT,PWM,interrupt sampling and introduced in detail from the aspects of system structure and interface design,ect.Finally,the feasibility of the system control strategy is verified through the test platform and on-the-spot commissioning.The practical fault of the industrial production is analyzed.The experimental results show that SVG can effectively suppress high-order wave,Eliminating the three-phase unbalance caused by inductive load and improving the stability of power system voltage,it solves the problem of industrial load in power network and has a good application prospect.
