As rapid rural urbanization and new rural construction in China, the rural energy consumption structure is shifting away from the traditional non-commodity energy consumption mode toward the commodity energy consumption mode.Under such premise and background,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the influencing factors on the energy consumption of rural residential building. In the narrow sense, the energy consumption of rural residential buildings refers to the energy used in rural households, that is,the energy consumed by rural households in cooking, hot water, lighting, home appliances, refrigeration and heating.Based on the individual perspective of rural residents and the theory of planning behavior, this study selected the factors affecting the energy consumption of rural residential building, established the systematic theoretical model, and proposed relevant research hypotheses. And then five new villages in Chengdu was selected as the empirical study area. The T-test and one-way ANOVA of multivariate statistical analysis and structural equation model were used to conduct empirical analysis using SPSS23.0 and AMOS21.0 software. This study discusses the influence of socio-demographic factors, architectural characteristics and individual energy consumption psychological factors on the energy consumption of rural residential buildings, and draws the following conclusions:1.The factors of personal characteristic factors other than age indicators have no significant effect on the energy consumption of rural residential building products in Chengdu. The impact of all family characteristics indicators on the energy consumption of rural residential buildings in Chengdu is positive.Significant indicators include the total family population, family resident population, the population under the age of 18,the composition of family members, and the total annual household income.2.Building direction, ventilation and lighting indicators have a significant impact on household electricity consumption but no significant impact on natural gas energy consumption.Because building direction, ventilation and lighting indicators mainly affect household heating, cooling and lighting, and these methods mostly use electric energy. Therefore,it only affects the energy consumption of electricity. The impact of the time required for toilet/kitchen hot water on the energy consumption of rural residential buildings is not remarkable.3.Individual psychological factors based on the theory of planning behavior include attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, habits, and behavioral intentions. It is found that subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and habit variables have significant influence on the behavioral intention variables via structural equation modeling analysis.Based on the above conclusions,in the construction of new rural areas, local governments should plan the residential area according to the family population distribution, unify the orientation of residential buildings, and it's better in the south direction. In addition, combined with the needs and characteristics of residents,to conduct rational planning, the commodity energy infrastructure is continuously improving, the service level should be promoted, and the farmers' attitude towards commodity energy and their satisfaction should be further enhanced. And promote green building housing and promote the sustainable development of new rural energy.
