With the development of modern transportation,the number of cars is increasing year by year.As a result,the incidence of traffic accidents keeps rising,and traffic accidents cause a lot of loss of life and property to people.One of the most common types of accidents is rear-end collisions.This kind of low speed rear impact usually causes the head to swing with the neck like whiplash,and then causes the neck to over-stretching and over-bending,resulting in whiplash injury.The car seat can protect the neck by supporting the trunk and head in case of rear-ending.Moreover,the ability of the seat to prevent whipping injury varies with different seat parameters.In this paper,the formation mechanism of whiplash injury,establishment of simulation model of whiplash test,influencing factors of seat anti-whiplash injury and optimization of seat parameters were studied,aiming at summarizing influencing factors and laws of seat on neck protection ability,and optimizing seat structure to improve its performance against whiplash injury.The whole research process mainly includes the following research contents:(1)The mechanism of neck injury is summarized,the biomechanical characteristics of the neck in whipping injury are explored,and the research and improvement process of the seat aimed at preventing whipping injury of the neck are expounded.(2)HyperMesh is used to build seat and dummy models.And introduce the whip test procedure in C-NCAP,and conduct collision test simulation according to the test method of the procedure.Then the indexes extract from the simulation results are evaluated according to the standard of flogging test procedure.(3)Based on the initial finite element model,the influence factors of the seat's resistance to whipping injury are found.And find the influence law by changing the single influence factor.At the same time,the influence of non-seat parameters on the protection against whipping injury in the neck is studied.The characteristics of seats with good neck protection ability are summarized.(4)According to the characteristics of the seat whipping injury optimization problem,the orthogonal test method is selected to optimize the initial model,find the optimal level of each influencing factor,determine the optimal combination,and then verify the optimization model.According to the optimization model,the physical model is trial-produced and verified by the physical trolley experiment.
