With the continuous strengthening of China's fuel economy standard regulations and emission standards,start and stop of Micro-hybrid technology(Start-Stop system)has emerged.It is committed to minimize engine fuel consumption at idle speed.The flex-plate discussed in this paper is one of the core components in the start stop system.During the normal driving of a vehicle,the flex-plate transfers the engine speed and torque to the torque converter of the automatic transmission to drive the vehicle.When the start and stop function is active,starter motor transfers the speed and torque to the engine through the small gear of start motor and meshing with gear of flex-plate,to help the engine ignition to start.A reasonable design of the flex-plate will play a decisive role in the stability and fatigue & durability of the start-stop system.One piece flex-plate is mainly applied to the traditional hydraulic automatic transmission.As of today,engineers are mainly focus on two piece flex-plate(without start-stop function)and have lots experiences with it,but not familiar with one piece flex-plate(within start and stop function).How to design one piece flex-plate and apply related experiments would be described based on the start-stop system.The critical and main points includes raw material selection,potential failure mode analysis,3D modeling and cold forming process,finite element analysis(FEA)and etc.The test phase includes: engineering sample production,design verification test and system level test--start stop test,test data analysis and etc.The one piece flex-plate is designed for start and stop functions of Micro-hybrid cars.The one piece flex-plate design and research are great significant practice,will accumulate lots experience for the design and research of other one piece flex-plate for start-stop system of Micro-hybrid.
