Protection And Utilization Strategy Of Arcade Buildings In Shantou Small Park Kailuan District From The Perspective Of Contextual Continuance

Shantou is an important port city in Lingnan.It formed a unique continuous arcade street in the 1930 s.It is the largest group of arcades in mainland China and the only radial arcade street with many values.As a witness to Shantou's “Hundred Years of Business”,the building reflects the personality culture of the Shantou Kailuan District,highlighting the image characteristics of Shantou and the traditional culture of Chaoshan.How to accurately grasp the development of the Shantou arcade culture,explore the shape characteristics and multi-value of the small park arcade building,reasonable protection,continuation,and rejuvenation of the arcade building context are important issues worthy of deep thinking and research.First of all,the article sorts out the related concepts of the continuation of the Chinese pulse in the past,and the method of protection and utilization of the building.And then proposes the feasibility of applying context continuity as a methodology to the study of the protection of buildings.The research system of contextual continuance was constructed,and the method of analyzing the architectural style of small parks from the hidden context and the explicit context was formed.Then,through the literature and questionnaires,the questionnaire interview method was used to analyze the characteristics of the historical humanities and current needs of the Kailuan District of the small park.The characteristics of the texture,shape,detail and craft of the building were analyzed through field research and architectural typology.Finally,based on the interactive symbiosis of explicit and implicit contexts,the objectives,principles,processes and strategies of the protection and utilization of the building are proposed.Compare the actual effects after repairing,and summarize the differences between ideals and reality and the reasons behind them.By extension,it summarizes the current problems of the protection and utilization of the building,and proposes a protection concept and design method with certain universality,hoping to provide reference for the future protection of the building.
