Good handling stability is the premise for the car to get good results in the Formula Student Racing competition,and the dynamics simulation software is an important means of handling stability research.The movement of the car is inseparable from the force exerted by the ground on the tire,and the force of the air on the car affects the running state of the car,so the accuracy of the tire model and aerodynamic parameters must be considered to establish an accurate vehicle dynamics simulation model.Based on building the dynamic simulation model of Formula Racing car in Chang'an University and exploring the applicable evaluation method for the handling stability test of the formula racing car,this paper studies the handling stability of the car using virtual simulation and optimize the tire parameter design to improve the handling stability of the racing car.In this paper,the Matlab curving fitting toolbox is used to process the tire test data to fit the PAC2002 tire model parameters,and a virtual simulation model of the hot-melt tire is established.The virtual tire test is performed by Adams/car to verify that the tire model accurately reflected the mechanical properties of the hot melt tire.The relationship between the air force of the car and the speed of the car was determined by the downforce test and introduced into the established virtual vehicle model.The vehicle simulation is carried out according to the actual game Skid Pad project,and the actual vehicle acquisition data and simulation results are compared to verify the accuracy of the model.According to the scoring rules of the Formula Student Car Competition and the National Handling Stability Test Standard,this paper discusses the evaluation method of the handling stability for the purpose of embodying the racing performance of the formula car.And uses this evaluation method to evaluate the handling stability of the Changan University Formula Racing car virtual prototype in the Adams/car environment.After that,based on the established vehicle model,the paper studies the effects of tire camber and tire type on the handling stability of the car.The results can be used not only to optimize the formula design of the formula car tires,but also to provide parameter guidance for the test and training of the car.
