Bamboo has the advantages like short growing period,high tensile strength and good toughness,renewable and biodegradable performance that can make the building more environmentally friendly.On the other side,because of stamina and easy cracking,bamboo is not widely used in building.Using CFRP to reinforce bamboo can improve the performance of bamboo.The reinforced bamboo can be used to build bamboo structural,and it can be used in the steel structure to replace the substructure,like purlin and drawbar.This paper researches the failure model and stability of reinforced bamboo under center pressure,and derives the formula of local stability,to provide reference for the application and design of reinforced bamboo building.This paper also construct a steel structure model by Midas/Gen.Then replace the substructure,like purlin and drawbar,of it by the reinforced bamboo.By comparing the result of the two models,this paper proves the feasibility of the reinforced bamboo,which is used in steel structure to replace the substructure.
