Small and medium agriculture and forestry tractor is a kind of power machinery which is widely used in agriculture and forestry.The working environment is very complex and once it occurs in roll-over accidents,which will pose a serious threat to the life safety of occupants.So it is very important to protect the safety of the operation of the tractor.Roll-Over Protective Structures,which is short for ROPS,is a kind of passive protection device arranged on a tractor.It was found to be extremely effective safety device.This paper introduces the performance requirements and the design principle of the two column ROPS for small and medium agricultural and forestry tractors,make the design scheme of ROPS,determine the basic structure of ROPS,establish the threedimensional geometric model of the two column ROPS for small and medium agricultural and forestry tractors through the use of PRO/E.The FEA model of two column ROPS for small and medium tractor is established by using FEA software,HYPERWORKS and ABAQUS.According to the relevant standards,the ROPS is analyzed by finite element simulation.According to the analysis results,optimize for lightweight design and the proper finite element model is established.Finally,according to the national standard,the reliability of the FEA results and the property of the design are verified through the static load test of the ROPS.It provides the basis for the follow-up product design or improvement of the ROPS.
