China’s power transmission and distribution system has made rapid development since the Reform and Opening-up.The industry’s annual output value accounted for the proportion of the country’s GDP has reached more than 5%.Power transmission and distribution industry is a fully market-oriented industry.The main manufacturers include both foreign traditional electrical industry giants and the domestic corporations.There are more than one hundred listing corporations in Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges.With the requirements of the power supply safety,power quality,the intelligence of the transmission and distribution network,and the adaption to the trend of the globalization of the market,there are higher requirements for the product development.The product development cycle is getting shorter and shorter.The products need to be able to create value for customers,and the corporations also need to provide customers with a full range of services.N’s R & D management in the development process encountered series problems such as high product development risks,long time-to-market,uncontrollable product quality and frequent changes,etc.This thesis first summarizes the theories and methods of domestic and abroad R & D project management,and then analyzes the practical application problems of project management process in terms of management environment,process,implementation and evaluation indicators of project management by further studying into the current R & D management status of company N.A new R & D management mode for transmission and distribution industry is proposed.The proposed management mode includes three parts.The first part is the overall structure designing of R & D project management process by dividing it into five sub modules including project management,demand and product design,supply chain design and implementation,product and component verification,product listing.In order to promote the implementation process of R & D project management,the second part of management improvements and optimization measures is carried out in the aspects of enterprise organization and operational environment of project management.Finally a two level coordination system of resource communication and a project task grading system method are constructed to ensure the effectiveness of conducting the management implementation of the optimized R & D management process in the multi projects management situation.These proposed R & D project management process optimization measures has been put into practice in a case study of N company’s SVG project,which characterized as a typical application in the transmission and distribution industry.And the updated practical application experience investigated the effectiveness of proposed new methods to improve R & D project management process for further reference in power industry.
