With the global warming and the acceleration of urbanization in China,the combination of landscape architecture with microclimate has become one of the research hotspots in landscape architecture.Residential areas are closely related to people's lives.The healthy and comfortable outdoor environment of residential areas has become a selling point for more and more estate developers and an important consideration for citizens who want to buy houses.At present,some scholars have conducted relevant studies on the impact of trees on the thermal environment in residential areas.However,plants are not independent individuals and are closely related to the greening design.There are still few studies on whether the differences of plant configuration have an impact on thermal environment.Therefore,this paper combines greening design with thermal environment design to study.The main content of this paper includes four aspects.1)Base on the investigation of 12 residential areas,which are in representative cities in the south subtropical region,the paper divided the residential areas into three parts according to the human behavior and activity areas,and named them the entrance area,the activity area and the neighborhood area.The cluster analysis method was adopted to obtain the typical plant patterns in each residential area in the south tropical region.2)In the Envi-met version 4.4.2,a new macro-scale thermal environment simulation method is added,and the plant library is also updated.However,the reliability of the plant module still needs to be discussed.By comparing the differences between the old and new versions of the Envi-met simulation software,the version with the highest correlation with the outdoor thermal environment in the south subtropical region was selected to provide a means for simulating and analyzing the thermal environmental benefits of the plant module.3)Based on the analysis of the influence factors of phytocoenosium on thermal environment,this paper started from the correlation between the configuration of plant community and the benefit of thermal environment and put forward the evaluation indexes,which can reflect the thermal comfort when the designers use it to design greening.4)By means of simulation and the relevant evaluation indexes,this paper analyzes the thermal comfort condition of typical plant community module,selectedsome plant community modules which meet the thermal comfort,and summarizedthe characteristics of these plant community modules.On the basis of meeting the thermal comfort requirements,this paper provides relevant strategies for the greening design of residential areas in south subtropical region.And based on these strategies and the evaluation indexes,this paper analyzed and verified the feasibility of the plant community module by taking the Zhujiang Jiayuan residential area in Guangzhou as an example.
