| Mechanical seals have received great attention and promotion in the power industry,the petrochemical industry,the automotive industry,and especially the aerospace industry due to their superior safety,applicability and economy.Mechanical seal is an integral system,which needs to consider the combination of sealed medium,pairing material,friction coefficient,temperature and leakage to achieve the purpose of improving life,reducing friction and wear,and reducing leakage,so as to better meet the industry.Studies have shown that the construction of a reasonable size and distribution of the surface texture can significantly improve the overall performance of the mechanical seal.Therefore,the use of mechanically sealed paired pairs with surface texture for testing sealing performance and tribological properties is of paramount importance.In this paper,the tribological performance and sealing performance test of the straight groove,the oblique groove and the V-groove texture are processed separately for the pair of mechanical seals of different materials.Explore the differences in tribological properties and sealing properties of different materials,test and select the best texture of different materials to improve the performance of mechanical seals.The main contents of the full paper are as follows:(1)Exploring the grinding and polishing process of cemented carbide materials,so that the cemented carbide materials moving ring meets the requirements of flatness and surface roughness.The surface texture of different shapes having a certain depth,width and area ratio was processed on the surface of the cemented carbide by a photolithography process and a micro-electrolysis process.(2)Paired secondary friction characteristics and surface texture effects of cemented carbide/carbon graphite.Three types of straight grooves,oblique groove,and V-grooves were separately tested.The textured sealing surface can significantly reduce the friction coefficient,and also cause negative effects,increasing the leakage.The straight groove type anti-friction effect is remarkable,but the leakage amount increases sharply.Only the right angle of the oblique groove texture can reduce the friction coefficient.And the oblique groove texture leakage is lower than the straight groove texture.The V-groove type can significantly reduce the friction coefficient,and the leakage is much lower than the straight groove and oblique groove type.At low speeds,the V-groove texture leakage is no difference compared with the blank sample.(3)Paired friction characteristics and surface texture effects of cemented carbide/silicon carbide.Choose three types: straight groove,oblique groove,and V-groove.It has been found that the textured mechanical seal can reduce the friction coefficient,reduce the starting torque and reduce the friction heat,and the introduction of the texture does not cause the cemented carbide/silicon carbide pair leakage.The area ratio of the straight groove texture has an important impact.The different angles of the oblique groove texture have different effects on the three performance indicators,but the optimization of each parameter is inferior to the straight groove texture.The V-shaped groove can also positively affect the three performance indicators.The performance of the combination of different angles is different,but the overall optimization is inferior to the straight groove texture. |
