The continuous increase of car ownership has made the congestion of urban road network increasingly serious.the intersection,as the node of urban road network,is often the source of traffic congestion,what`s more,because of the interaction and influence among intersections,the operational status of neighboring intersections will be affected by congested intersection,resulting in congestion spread,and the entire regional road network traffic will be “smashed” in severe cases.Therefore,it is necessary to study the relationship between adjacent intersections.However,most of the existing researches on the correlation degree of adjacent intersections are based on the principles of flow,cycle and distance.The threshold of correlation degree strength is also based on experience which lacks the basic support of traffic operation data.Therefore,this paper studies the relationship degree of adjacent intersections in urban road network which is based on the actual traffic operation data.The main research work is as follows:(1)Ba Firstly,based on the existing research,the necessity of studying the relevance of adjacent intersections is proposed.Combined with the stopping characteristics of vehicles on the road sections and intersections,the upstream and downstream flow relationships and the road geometry,the evaluation indicators and influencing factors of the adjacent intersections are analyzed.(2)According to the traffic operation characteristics of traffic flow in urban road network,this paper researches the traffic flow,vehicle speed,road occupancy rate and traffic density characteristics of urban road network based on the operation data of a certain urban road network in Hefei City,Anhui Province.(3)Starting from the traffic demand characteristics and geometric characteristics of adjacent intersections.The correlation degree model of traffic demand characteristics between adjacent intersections is established which considering the dynamic factors such as upstream and downstream traffic flow characteristics,signal period and traffic flow discreteness;and the geometric feature model of adjacent intersections is established by considering the static factors such as road lane number,road space and intersection spacing.Finally,the comprehensive adjacent intersection correlation model is obtained.(4)Based on the measured data along the Huangshan Road in Hefei City,the correlation degree of adjacent intersections is calculated,what`s more,the correlation degree level is divided by using the correlation degree of adjacent intersections as an indicator,Then the traffic data of Xuancheng City in the “ITS Alliance” is used to verify the correlation degree of adjacent intersections.This paper establishes the correlation model of adjacent intersections which is based on traffic operation data,and divides the intersection degree level,it can quantify the correlation of adjacent intersections in real time,and provide theoretical basis for traffic control sub-area division and regional coordination control.At the same time,it also provides decision-making basis for solving the traffic congestion problem in urban road network.
