As a significant part of smart grid,smart energy meter plays a more and more vital role.How to ensure the normal operation of smart energy meter and improve its stability and reliability is a hot research direction.Therefore,focusing on the reliability of smart energy meters has its significance.This paper takes the D-type smart energy meter produced by a company in Xi'an as the analysis object.Firstly,it studies the reliability theory of smart energy meter.Based on the conclusion that failure rate of smart energy meter obeys the life characteristic curve--"bathtub curve",this paper begins to analyze the failure characteristics of smart energy meter in different periods.Then it explores the analysis of reliability indicators and fault distribution rules.Secondly,the paper analyzes the composition of the smart energy meter.It studies analysis methods and the on-site maintenance data collected by the maintenance department.At the same time,it researches the reliability of this batch of smart energy meters.Starting from the distribution law of the fault data and the reliability index of the fault life,we can obtain that the on-site maintenance data can basically accord with the changing trend of "bathtub curve".The Weibull distribution and the least squares method are selected for data analysis.Compared with the approximate median rank method,the average rank method can effectively improve the accuracy of parameters.It is more suitable for the application of Weibull distribution.We can gain the reliability indices and corresponding block diagrams of smart energy meters,and analyze the trend of faults in the use of smart energy meters.Finally,the paper analyzes the principle of the smart energy meter.With the help of failure mode,effects and criticality analysis(FMECA)table,the reliability prediction model is used to study various failure modes,causes and effects of smart energy meter.We analyze the example of the D-type smart energy meter,and according to the severity of the FMECA table,we can obtain the fault events with severity I and II.These fault events are respectively used as the top event of the fault tree for the fault tree analysis(FTA).We can acquire the most essential bottom events causing these events,and gain the order of the importance of the fault bottom events.At the same time,the analysis of the most essential bottom events canprovide a basis for the design and improvement of the smart energy meter in the later stage,that implies certain engineering application value.
