With the increasingly stringent energy crisis,environmental pollution and emission regulations,the power,fuel economy and emission quality of traditional fuel vehicles have received further attention.It is well known that the atomization quality of fuel determines the economy and emission quality of the engine to a large extent.The most direct way to measure the quality of the atomization is to measure the size distribution curve of the atomized droplets,including the PDF curve of the droplet size,the cumulative volume curve of the number of droplet sizes,and the atomization characteristic parameters such as the average diameter and the characteristic diameter.This paper is mainly based on the research of the school spray research group,screening a large number of original spray images obtained by the research group spray test,and selecting better quality images for comparative study.The image of the better quality image is preprocessed and thresholded to obtain a binary image of the spray droplet,and then the morphological knowledge is used to obtain the diameter,number,volume and other data of the droplet under the working condition.In order to systematically and efficiently complete the task,this paper has written a droplet size measurement system based on Matlab/GUI platform.The system can realize image processing,curve drawing and data comparison processing,which can clearly and clearly describe the quality of fuel atomization under certain working conditions.Comparing the measurement results of the system program under the same working conditions with the results curve of Malvern,it is found that the droplet size distribution curve generated by the droplet size measurement system fits well with the result curve of Malvern.The system has low cost,good repeatability and reliable test results,and can be used as a new method in the field of spray research.
