During the treatment of respiratory diseases by atomization inhalation,the location of drug deposition depends on the size and distribution of atomized droplets,and the size and distribution of droplets largely depends on the atomization method used.Previous studies have shown that monodisperse droplets have obvious therapeutic advantages,while electrospray is a very gentle technology which produces uniform monodisperse droplets.Based on this,this paper presents a new method of preparing monodisperse aerosol using electrospray to treat respiratory diseases.In order to investigate the effect of electrospray atomization,in this paper,a systematic study is carried out from two aspects of experiment and simulation.Firstly,the Maxwell simulation software was used to simulate the electrostatic field of the electrode structure,and the influence of the geometric parameters of the electrode on the electric field strength was analyzed to obtain the optimal electrode configuration.Then the electrostatic atomization experiment platform was built and the atomization experiments were carried out for different drug solutions.In the experiment,the atomization characteristics of droplets were measured by Malvern laser particle size analyzer.The effects of flow rate,voltage,structure parameters of electrodes and physical properties of solution on electrostatic atomization were analyzed.The atomization morphology and stable region of distilled water,saline and ethanol were observed by Dantec particle dynamic analyzer.The results show that the droplet size is small and monodisperse in the cone-jet mode of electrostatic atomization.By reducing the flow rate,increasing the number of needles,shortening the distance between electrodes,properly adding surfactants and sodium chloride,the voltage required to achieve a smaller particle size distribution can be reduced,and the atomization effect can be optimized.The particle size of the atomized ethanol/drug solution can reach 1-10?m,while that of the atomized drug/distilled water or drug/saline is about 30?m.
