As global competition became increasingly fierce,the core competence of enterprise switches from manufacturing to product development.In order to win the market share,enterprise have to deliver high quality product by lower development cost in a shorter time.For this purpose,product development procedure improvement is in great urgency.At the same time,large amount of waste come up with company's huge investment in R&D.For example,product design rework,repeated experiments and periodical expedite,etc.Firstly,this thesis summarizes the value and waste in product development by analyzing the state of art study from domestic and foreign scholars,and introduces several tools for product development value stream analysis;Secondly,introduces the present status of screw compressor development and the general method of value stream analysis,and draws the As-is value stream map based on collected data;thirdly,waste analysis,using Design Structure Matrix analyzes the interactions from a general perspective,then systematically analyzes other wastes,identify the root cause and propose improvement plan;fourthly,write a MS VBA program to simulate the lead time of before & after status using Monte Carlo simulation,which proves the effectiveness of the counter measure;at last,draws the To-be value stream map of compressor development,and proves its validity by real project data.The creativity of this thesis lays in applying Lean Product Development methodology into compressor development.By thoroughly analyzing the problems using DSM and waste analysis tools,this paper proposes counter measures for improvement.And a MS VBA model is created for new product development simulation,with a composite DSM to describe possibility of rework and activity sequence.With this model,Monte Carlo method is employed to simulate the lead time distribution.Through compressor development application,this thesis proves the validity of Lean Product Development framework and tools.The analysis method and lead time simulation model provide the method and tools for enterprise that needs Lean Product Development transformation.
