Modern construction industry continuously puts forward new challenge on the design and construction of buildings,building information model of BIM technology is put forward to improve the conflict coordination in building design and construction,speed up the construction progress.However,there are still many problems in the practical application of this new technology.In this paper,we will study how to use BIM technology to build models in the design and construction stage,and discusses some key problems in actual application of it.This research has important social significance and practical value.Firstly,the development and present situation of BIM technology is introduced,as well as the principle,key technology,and some questions of the technology.Secondly,in order to find solutions to the problems in the practical application,the key points of BIM application in the design stage and construction phase are discussed respectively.The BIM modeling process at the design stage based on platform Revit has been described in detail.Based on BIM modeling,two-dimensional design drawing,and combination with other information,a final 3D BIM modeling results are presented.The model provides the basis for optimal design.In the actual construction phase,BIM requirements in construction stage are introduced.A detailed process of modeling are illustrated on the basis of the preliminary design period.The final 4D BIM model is constructed,which contains not only the information from design drawing,but also other non-parameter information essential to construction operations.The model makes it possible to find the confliction in design of different fields via design collision retrieval and optimization the overall design.Furthermore,the 3D simulation function provides great help to operator in actual constructions and operations.Finally,two practical projects which apply BIM technology in design and construction are demonstrated as examples.The practical effect of the projects shows that the application of BIM model can effectively detect conflicts in different specialized area.It provides a basis for optimization design,makes later construction coordination convenient,and improves the efficiency of the construction.In this thesis,the key points of applying BIM technology in construction and its application has been introduced.The BIM technology implements transition from 2d drawings to 3d vision as well as combination of various independent information from different sources in one BIM model.It has realized a centralized and sustainable use of overall information model,laid a solid foundation to realize the collaborative work of construction industry.In conclusion,BIM technology plays an important role in the field of construction.
