Study On The Urban Design Strategies Of Historic Districts In Zhalantun City

As city pursues construction speed and modernization and the requirements of city development and people's demand for living environment increase,the historic districts are constantly squeezed and disappearing during city development and the contradiction between the conservation and renewal of historic districts are also increasingly fierce.This paper takes urban design strategies as the entry point to discuss the conservation and renewal of historic district.Then urban design of historic districts in Zhalantun City serves as the case to further explore out its appropriate urban design strategies.In this paper,the author has reviewed the development of historic district and urban design both at home and abroad,collected and summarized the methods and modes of historic district conservation and renewal and further discussed urban design strategies and methods for the current historic district renewal with Chinese characteristics.Additionally the social issues related to historic district conservation and renewal are also involved.Based on the comprehensive analysis of typical domestic and foreign cases,urban design strategies are then summarized and generated to apply to the conservation and renewal of historic districts with the possible problems during the process of urban design.Combing with the actual cases,the strategies of urban design are applied to the conservation and renewal of historic districts in Zhalantun City with the anticipation of good results.Based on the field research,the author has analyzed the reasons for problems of various elements to further find out the suitable modes for local historic district renewal and development.Moreover,the existing problems are profoundly analyzed for the current historic districts in Zhalantun City from the view of urban design.Then the principles and the position are put forward.Ultimately,multiple integration strategies of urban design and management and control guarantee strategies of urban design are therefore put forward from land use,building features,landscape system,traffic organization,open space and civilization activities and others.This paper introduces the strategies of urban design to woke up the valuable space in historic districts,which,however,is ignored due to city development.Then the conservation and renewal of historic districts are realized to provide the living environment with more comfortableness and cultural connotation for the citizens in Zhalantun City and provide more scientific and feasible strategies and methods for the construction of city features in Zhalantun City.
