In order to solve the problem of urban air pollution and energy shortage,it is necessary to vigorously develop the new energy automobile industry.However,the key technologies have not yet broken through to restrict the use of new energy automobiles.There are many factors affecting the innovation activities.Among them,the role of government and market is the most important.At present,China's NEV enterprises have supported by policiest but the technology level is still low.Thus,the stimulation of market competition is needed to stimulate the enterprise's own R&D willingness.Then,with the government support and market competition affecting the innovation of NEV,what effect will the interweaving of these two forces produce? I wonder whether the market-driven role improves or weakens the impact of government support on technological innovation.With facing different market competition,what are the different incentive effects of government on technological innovation of enterprises? How can the government promote the innovation willingness of new energy automobile enterprises more effectively?In view of the above problems,this paper deeply analyses the mechanism of market competition and government support affecting the technological innovation of new energy automobile industry.Based on the micro-data of Listed Companies in China's new energy automobile industry from 2011 to 2017,this paper makes an empirical analysis of the relationship between market competition,government support and technological innovation and also investigates how market competition plays different roles under different market competition levels.Based on the results,we conclude that firstly,market-driven has significantly promoted R&D investment of NEV in China.And the regulatory role of marketcompetition has improved the incentive effect of government support for technological innovation of NEV.Second,government support and market competition can stimulate innovation enthusiasm of NEV better in China due to the mutual promotion role.Third,the incentive effect of government subsidies and tax incentives on R&D activities of NEV has significant difference in different market competition degrees.Under the high market competition level,the incentive effect of government subsidies and tax preferences will be better.Forth,government subsidies,tax preferences and market competition have no significant effect on the efficiency of technological innovation.The conclusion shows that the innovation of NEV in China needs the vigorous drive of the market.Therefore,deepening the market-oriented reform is the key to give full play to the role of market in promoting NEV.At the same time,China's support policy for new energy vehicles has not yet reached the expected innovation incentives,on the contrary,it hinders the company's willingness to research and develop.However,with the help of market competition adjustment,the incentive effect of policy has been improved and promoted.In addition,the efficiency of technological innovation in China's new energy automotive industry has not been effectively improved,but R&D investment is a necessary part of innovation activities.Hence,the government should formulate a scientific policy for NEV,emphasize core technologies,and guide the competitive vitality of the market,and perfect the relevant systems and give targeted support to innovation.
