Electronic speed regulation system is an important part in the application of diesel engine electronic control technology.PID control technology is widely used in the current diesel engine speed regulation system,the parameters of the traditional PID controller are usually unchanged after the setting is completed,which leads to the possibility that the parameters of the PID controller may not be the best parameters and can not achieve the best control effect.The Particle Swarm Optimization can automatically adjust and update the PID parameters according to the error of the system,which can keep the system in the best condition all the time.So this paper combines the PSO algorithm with PID controller,and successfully applies it to the diesel engine speed control strategy.The main research work of this paper is as follows:Firstly,this paper studies the basic principle and composition of PSO algorithm and an intelligent PID controller is designed according to the control principle of traditional PID controller.The Intelligent PID controller is adopted to control the classical time-delay system,and it is found that there is a problem which is particle jumping in the current PSO algorithm by analyzing the experimental data,so an improved method to avoid the problem is proposed.The PID controller based on the improved PSO algorithm is adopted to control the classical time-delay system,and compared with the traditional PID controller and the PID controller based on the standard PSO algorithm.Experimental result shows that the intelligent PID controller is superior to the traditional PID controller,and the improvement of PSO algorithm which improves the convergence accuracy of the algorithm is effective.Secondly,the average model of D6114 diesel engine and the model of diesel engine speed regulation system is established based on the software of Matlab/Simulink and working principle of diesel engine.The model of diesel engine speed regulation system is controlled by classical PID controller,PID controller based on standard PSO algorithm and PID controller based on improved PSO algorithm,and carry out the simulation test of diesel engine start and load mutation.The result shows that the PID controller based on the improved PSO algorithm which has smaller overshoot rate and shorter time to reach stability is superior than the other two PID controllers.Finally,studying the Hardware-In-Loop simulation test platform and preparing the hardware construction,the preparation of ECU,software configuration and wave table generation.The diesel engine speed regulation system based on different algorithms is simulated and tested in the system of HIL.The PID controller based on the improved PSO algorithm is feasible according to the experimental results.
