Restoration is one of the core issues in the protection of architectural heritage,and it is also a hot issue in current society.In recent years,as the country paying more attention to modern historical architecture,its restoration has become the focus of current research.However,as the rapid development of cities,some heritages lack the proper supervision and protection system,so their current status is not optimistic.However,lacking targeted digital tools,the existing restorations methods' efficiency is low.With the advent of the era of big data,the rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI)has enabled many repetitive tasks to be automated,and has been improving the efficiency of multiple industries,as well as in the field of architectural heritage.This article has been based on this attempt – to establish a digital tool for solving the problem of heritage restoration.Firstly,it summarized the relevant theories and methods of historical building restoration engineering,and sorted out the demand framework of digital tools.Secondly,it investigated the modern historical buildings in Liaoning,statistically compiled the contents that can form the database of this tool,and analyzes the problems of poor preservation state,low repair efficiency and lack of targeted database management in modern historical buildings in Liaoning.According to the above research results,it completed the functional design part of the tool;Based on the above requirements framework and functional design results,being combined with computer database,machine learning,image analysis and other technologies,it developed the digital tool with interactive interface under Qt framework;Finally,this article applied the tool to the case study of some modern historical heritages in Liaoning,and summarized the role of the tool in historical heritage composition and distribution analysis,image data automatic finishing,architectural detail similarity,style discrimination,main color extraction,and epidermal damage identification.Also,it pointed out its lack of calculation accuracy.This research can improve the efficiency of the restoration project to a certain extent,and provide relevant analysis and reference basis for the restoration project.The method has certain scientific and objectivity,can reduce the deviation of the repair work due to the difference of subjective understanding to a certain extent;it can be further extended to other research fields of historical heritage,and the digital technology will be deeply penetrated into the architectural heritage work to improve overall work efficiency,to assist in the investigation,research,protection,repair,monitoring and other work of historic heritages.
