With the continuous development of trade globalization, regional free trade is becoming more and more active, and the demand for ocean transportation of goods is also increasing. At the same time, with the global temperature rise, the Arctic waters of the transport value gradually emerged: energy mining and transportation has become a new hot spot in the current ship development. The structure of the ship is also developing towards a more robust and greener environment,in line with the new environment, greater demand and a wider range of sea areas. On July 1,2015,the Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers(CSR BC & OT)was formally implemented, requiring ships to meet certain requirements to conduct CSR BC & OT specification validation to assess safety requirements.New specifications pose new challenges for designers, especially when the structure meets descriptive requirements and does not meet direct computational requirements.Iterative design in finite element design software is a resource-intensive procedure,The design efficiency of the stage is beneficial to the whole structure design. In this thesis, based on the basic requirement of CSR BC & OT for direct strength calculation,a new method to calculate the minimum plate thickness to meet the structural requirements is proposed. This method assumes a linear relationship between the thickness increment and the normal stress and shear stress, calculates the value of the linear stress after the increase of the plate thickness and the normal stress, and calculates the new Von Miese equivalent according to the equivalent stress calculation formula of the thin plate Stresses,Comparison The simplified Miese stress after the calculation of the material yield limit to determine whether the structure meets the specification requirements. The results show that the simplified method can calculate the minimum plate thickness well under the condition of large shear stress. However, for the structure of the VLCC and a BC,the results of the direct calculation are compared with the finite element method. The smaller the shear stress is not applicable. The simplified method proposed in this thesis can improve the design efficiency in the ship structure design, and has certain reference significance.
