Ships passing through the Jianghan Canal are mainly driven by diesel engines at present.Large amounts of gaseous pollutants,noise and oil spill are generated and emitted during the operation of these ships,that causing air pollution,noise pollution and oil spill pollution.The pollution produced by the ships sailing on the Jianghan canal reduces the air quality and water quality of the cities around the canal.Electricity from shore-based power systems is relatively extensive,which mainly comes from thermal power generation and clean energy generation.And the proportion of clean energy generation is increasing.If shore-based power is used as a power source for canal ships,which means canal ships are driven by shore electric energy.Then the pollution produced by the canal ships will be greatly reduced.In order to apply shore-based power to the ships sailing on the Jianghan Canal,a 1 000 t class ship sailing in the Jianghan Canal is selected as the study object,and a ship propulsion system is designed that uses shore-based power to provide propulsion force.The experimental platform is designed and built,and part of the key technologies are experimentally studied to verify the feasibility of key technologies for the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power.The main work of this paper are as follows:(1)The design requirements for the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power is analyzed.Data on the navigation environment characteristics and ship route characteristics of the Jianghan Canal are collected by on-the-spot investigations and access to relevant data.These data are used to carry out navigation analysis,waterway analysis,hydrological analysis,representative ship load analysis and canal route analysis of the canal.According to the analysis,design requirements analysis of the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power are proposed.Under the design principles and design requirements,the overall design of the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power is made.(2)The key technologies for the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power is designed,which include the design of the shore-based power supply system,the design of the ship-shore power transmission system,the design of ship power system and the design of ship route offset control system.A new track power supply device and flexible electrical connection system are designed to transfer shore electricity to canal ships continuously according to system design requirements.The super capacitors and power batteries are brought into the ship's power system to provides the high current and reduce the grid transient voltage fluctuations due to a sudden load change at the time of ship start-up,which can also improve the braking ability of the ship.The BDS,AIS,and IENCs are combined to design an ship route offset control system to prevent shore-based energy ships from greatly shifting their original routes and ensure the safety of ship‘s sailing.(3)The experimental platform design and experimental study based on shore power is conducted.The experimental platform is designed and built according to the key technologies of the system,and the feasibility study of the key technologies is verified of the system.The experimental results show that the track power supply device and flexible electrical connection system can adapt to the navigation environment and continuously transmit the electricity to the ship based on shore power.And the flexible electrical connection system can be quickly disassembled through the disassembly rod and the quick connector at the time of the ship or the contact network fails.(4)The social benefits of the Jianghan Canal ship propulsion system based on shore power is calculated and analyzed.This paper mainly analyzes the social benefits of ships sailing on the Jianghan Canal that using shore-based energy in terms of economic benefits and emission reduction benefits.The results of the analysis show that this scheme applied to the Jianghan Canal ship has good economy,energy saving and emission reduction effects.
