In order to effectively alleviate the contradiction between fuel supply and demand,and the environmental problems that caused by it,China has successively promulgated increasingly stringent regulations on fuel consumption and emission restrictions.The research of improving fuel economy has become the most important task at present for enterprises to cope with the unprecedented pressure of fuel consumption.In this article,So as to solve the problem that the fuel consumption is not up to standard,a Frontengine Front-wheel drive vehicle is taken as the research object to improve the fuel economy by reducing the resistance of the parts of transmission system.The work of this article is as follows:(1)The problem of high resistance of transmission system parts is put forward.Three other similar samples are selected in domestic market,and the steady-state resistance of single point velocity of four vehicles is tested by using AVL chassis dynamometer.Method of disassembling the parts of transmission system step by step is adopted,to clarify the current resistance technology of the parts.At last,this article finds that there is a significant difference between gearbox and hub bearing in the resistance of the same type of vehicle,which provides a reference direction for the further research on the resistance reduction.(2)Theoretical analysis of resistance between gearbox and hub bearing.The factors influencing the gearbox power loss and hub bearing friction torque are analyzed in detail,and find that lubrication,clearance,sealing and precision are the key factors.The influence of the above factors is studied preliminarily,which provides a theoretical basis for further resistance optimization.(3)Research on the optimization scheme of reducing resistance of gearbox and hub bearing.Based on the theoretical analysis of resistance,some corresponding tests are designed to research the gearbox efficiency and hub bearing friction torque on the aspects of lubrication,clearance,sealing and precision.The experimental results show that lubrication,clearance,sealing and precision have different effects on the gearbox efficiency and hub bearing friction torque,then,according to the experimental results,aiming at above factors,the corresponding optimization scheme of reducing resistance is put forward.(4)Verification of fuel consumption for optimization scheme of resistance reduction.According to the optimization scheme,some prototypes are trial-produced.The results show that efficiency of the gearbox has been raised by about 1.04%,friction torque of the hub bearing has been reduced by about 27.1%,and resistance of the vehicle has been reduced separately by 5.3% and 7.3%.Then according to the actual situations,the cost change of the optimization scheme is analyzed briefly.Finally,the feasible optimization scheme is adopted to reduce the fuel consumption of the target vehicle by 0.18 L/100 Km,and the fuel saving rate to reach 2.4%.The target vehicle’s fuel economy is improved,and the problem that fuel consumption of the target vehicle doesn’t meet standard is solved.At present,the optimization scheme has been used in target vehicles and the platform in actual production,and this research with high practical application value has created a appreciable economic benefits.
