Research On Urban Children's Activity Space Design Based On Creativity Cultivation

Children are the future of our country.Today's society pays more and more attention to the healthy development of children.With the introduction and practice of "Child-friendly cities",the planning and construction of cities also take into account the needs of children.As a carrier of children's activities,the space environment is closely related to children's learning and development.It has a decisive influence on children's creativity and creative thinking.Therefore,it is necessary to design the children's activity space to cultivate children's creativity.very necessary.This paper starts with the current situation of children's creativity development and the characteristics of children's creativity development at different ages,observes the behavioral characteristics of children and their relationship with environmental space,and analyzes the factors affecting children's creativity development.Then,based on the two research areas involved in this topic—child psychology and architecture,through the use of Delphi method,interview questionnaires and consultations were conducted to two types of professionals in both fields—teachers and designers.After qualitative analysis,the five most important variables affecting children's creativity are obtained : 1 curiosity and imagination;2 transforming desire;3 game activities;4 anti-frustration ability;5 environmental comfort and security.Then,based on the perspective of spatial design,a series of design strategies are given and compared with the results of children's spatial preference test.Then,through the analysis of three excellent children's activity space design cases,some inspirations are obtained.In the last chapter,based on the previous analysis,conclusions and revelations,summarize the five design principles for the activity space for children's creativity:1 diversity principle;2 interactive participation principle,3 educational principles;4 challenging principles;5 safety and comfort principles.Then come up with some specific design methods from two major aspects: indoor and outdoor.The indoor space proposes specific measures from three aspects: space interface shape,color material and light and shadow,furniture and other facilities.The outdoor space proposes specific design methods from three aspects: the variety of spatial forms,the landscape configuration of the space environment,and the setting of creative game facilities.
