Energy resource is the force of promoting social economy development.Because of the energy crisis and the energy characteristics of biomass resources,energy resource has become an important research object of alternative energy.Biomass gasification technology is an efficient and fast technology to convert low-grade biomass resources into high-grade syngas,whose gasifying characteristics need to be studied in industrial applications.In this paper,the feasibility of biomass gasification is verified by TG-MS experiment firstly,and then through a small single-tube experimental bench,the range of gasification characteristics parameters is narrowed.Finally,a demonstration unit of biomass gasification is built,and some important operating parameters of gasification characteristics are studied on it.Experiments of biomass gasification were carried out on the small single-tube experimental bench.The experiment results show that gasification temperature could influence the characteristics of syngas.The higher temperature is,the better the characteristics are.However,excessive gasifying temperature will promote the reforming reaction of CH4,reduce the content of CO and CH4,which are the main components of syngas,and also reduce the calorific value of syngas.Results showed that the optimum gasification temperature ranges from 800?to 1100?.The smaller the particle size of biomass raw materials is,the better the heat and mass transfer effect,and the higher the gasification temperature in the furnace are.But too small biomass particle size will increase the preconditioning cost.Overall,considering gasification effect and preconditioning cost,the optimum particle size ranges from 80 meshes to 100 meshes.In the gasification experiment with steam as gasifying agent,the proportion of CO and H2 in syngas would be increased by adding appropriate gasifying agent.However,excessive quantity of gasifying agent will take away the heat in the furnace,resulting in lower gasification temperature,which would reduce the calorific value and output of syngas.When S/B is 1.4,the peak carbon conversion rate gets to the maximum which is96%,and the gasification efficiency is 94%.The construction of demonstration unit system was carried out,and the basic experimental study on industrial application of gasifying temperature and type of biomass materials was carried out based on results on the small single-tube experiment,.The experiment results show that,under the condition of air as gasifying agent,the optimum gasification temperature is 1000?,considering the gasification effect and cost synthetically.The gasification effect of raw materials that contains more cellulose is better than that of raw materials that contains more lignin.
