A Study Of Traditional Village Space’s Protection And Renewal In Qiantang River Drainage Area Under The Strategy Of Rural Revitalization

Traditional village has been formed in the course of long-term development of cultivation culture in China,which concretes epitome and memory of the Chinese history and culture and inherits national culture,rural genes and spirits.However,with the transformation of Chinese economic structure of society and ongoing trend of new-type urbanization,the mixing development of rural and urban regions and rural revitalization,it becomes a common trend of degradation of traditional villages and even the rural regions in a broad sense.The extinction of traditional village is at a rapid speed and the disappeared content includes not only residential buildings and villages but also our childhood memories and deep nostalgia more important.Therefore,protection and renewing the space of traditional villages become a pressing task and only in this way can retain rural genes and the vein of hometown of the Chinese nationality.Qiantang river drainage area is a place endowed with the rich historical and social cultural deposits,variety of geomorphic environments and traditional villages with the combination of nature and culture,which can be traced to Song and Yuan dynasties.Traditional village spreading among Qiantang river drainage area are like dazzling pearls in culture,which possess unsophisticated but exquisite appearance and abundant meaning in culture.However,as the time goes forward,these villages have been damaged at different levels out of causes.How to absorb vitality for sustainable development and power for perpetual inheritance for traditional villages in Qiantang river drainage area and achieve their protection and renewal in a time when the era is progressing in a fast way become a social subject urgently required to be solved nowadays.The strategy of rural revitalization is the setting of the new era for the practice of protecting and renewing traditional villages while the latter is the intrinsicrequirement of the former.Hence,this thesis has taken Qiantang river drainage area with abundant resources of traditional villages as a survey region and 665 traditional villages within the area listed in the catalogue of Chinese traditional village as a survey objective.Under the background of rural revitalization strategy,it analyzes academic research fruits about the protection and renewal work of traditional village and the synergy theory of subjects and domains at home and abroad,further teases the rule of regional distribution,type division,features and current issues of Chinese traditional villages and combines with natural and cultural situation in Qiantang river drainage area to analyze and integrate its geographical distribution rule,characteristics of different types and division of concrete spaces.At the end,with the focus on the importance and particularity of the value of traditional villages in Qiantang river drainage area,through a study of current issues existing and combining synergy theory of rural revitalization strategy,the river valley culture,subjects and domains,the aim of protection and renewal has been confirmed.This thesis has put forward principles followed in protection and renewal and explored ways of protection,renewal and development strategies being embeded in Qiantang river drainage area,a geographical region with particularity,so as to give an impetus to the real practice of rural revitalization in Qiantang river drainage area.It is expected that this thesis would provide reference for the research of traditional village protection and renewal in other regions and be make contribution to academic study of traditional village.
