The construction of domestic sponge cities was in full swing, but in Yangling District, due to the lack of guidance of low-impact development concepts, drought and guilt had become the two most frequent disasters in the region.Northwest A&F University is a higher education institution located in Yangling District. The resource utilization mode of the Northwest A&F University has a huge demonstration and publicity role for society. Therefore, the reconstruction of the sponge campus in Xi’an has played a positive role in promoting the ecological environment and economic benefits of the school itself,as well as the sustainable development and urban construction of Yangling District. The domestic research on the sponge campus mainly focused on the rainwater management effect of low-impact development measures, and paid less attention to the users’ research on their landscape preferences and their own functions. This study took the South Campus of Northwest A&F University as the research site.Through the study of students’ landscape preferences and the needs of site use functions, this paper proposed a fusion mode of landscape design and low-impact development measures, and designed and reconstructed low-impact development measures based on the situation to achieve a benign hydrological cycle on campus, stimulate the vitality of the site, create high landscape value and practical value for the campus environment, and finally achieve site functionality(rainwater management),landscape(landscape preference),and practicality(Use requirements)exist at the same time.Based on the research on the sponge campus case and related theories, this thesis carried out the research on the design of sponge campus landscape planning, and then applied the theoretical research results to the design practice, and proposed the design mode of low-impact development measures. The results of the study were as follows:(1)Defining the comprehensive design principles, design ideas and technical principles and design goals of the rainwater campus;(2)mastering the degree of preference for campus landscape of the reconstruction of the sponge campus through the in-depth study of the students’ landscape preferences;(3)dividing the campus into 22 catchment areas according to the road skeleton and the functional nature of the site, wherein,it was calculated that when the designed rainfall was 138.7mm in a hundred years, the total daily runoff of the school was 777,624.4m3,the total amount of runoff control in the catchment area was 683,299.4 m3,and the control rate was 87.87%;(4)combing out a relatively complete sponge campus design process: in the sponge campus landscape planning and design, firstly analyzing the condition of the site and evaluate the problem, and then determining the relevant design goals and control indicators, and finally accomplishing the design of low impact development measures based on the preference analysis results and target indicators.
