Preparation And Properties Of Modified Emulsified Asphalt With Recycled Engine Oil Bottom

Along with the increase in car ownership in China,the annual recycling of the recycled engine oil(REO)is also gradually increasing.However,after the recycling of the REO,the recycled engine oil bottom(REOB)can not be treated which has become a new environmental pollutant.Therefor,the recycling of the REOB has become a significant research focus.This study combines with the current situation that most of the highways in China have entered the middle and late stage which need a large amount of emulsified asphalt for repairing and maintaining.Through the development of six kinds of REOB modified emulsified asphalt for different uses which include mucositylayer,modified mucositylayer,modified seal coat,micro surfacing,cold recycling and modified slurry seal coat.On the one hand,it solves the disposal problem of the REOB;on the other hand,it saves resources and costs by replacing a certain proportion of asphalt and modified components with the REOB.To determine the feasibility of developing REOB modified emulsified asphalt through the REOB,we take three common domestic REOB as the research object.By adding REOB into aged asphalt in different proportions and testing the penetration,ductility and softening point indexes,we picked out the third REOB—REOB-3 which had the best regeneration effect on aged asphalt.DSR test and BBR test were carried out on aged asphalt mixed with REOB-3 to further study the influence of REOB-3 on the properties of aged asphalt.Besides,we had analyzed the REOB-3 and the aged asphalt mixed with the REOB-3 by rod thin layer chromatography(TLC),to study the regeneration mechanism of aged asphalt by the REOB-3.The conclusion confirmed the good compatibility between REOB and asphalt,and the feasibility of developing REOB modified emulsified asphalt.We developed REOB modified emulsified asphalt with REOB-3 mixed,and then its properties were verified mainly through the 1d storage stability,Engler viscosity,ductility,penetration and so on.Finally,we concluded that the material formula and the preparation technology of six kinds of REOB modified emulsified asphalt for different uses.The bond property of the REOB modified emulsified asphalt for mucosity layer was tested by the shear test and the tensile test,and we concluded the optimum dosage of the REOB modified emulsified asphalt for mucosity layer.The performance of REOB modified emulsified asphalt was tested in combination with concrete engineering paving test section.Compared with the common emulsified asphalt,its property indicators are stable and without obvious difference.
