With the development of society,there's less and less available land area in the city,and the distance between buildings becomes smaller and smaller.In recent years,seismic isolation technique has been wildly used in practical project as an effective way to isolate earthquake.However,when earthquake occurs,the horizontal displacement of the isolation structure is much larger than the normal structure which always causes the collision between adjacent structures and causes secondary damage to the structure.So how to avoid or reduce seismic isolation structure responding too much that causes collision is particularly important.According to the method of setting viscous dampers between adjacent isolation structures,this paper makes a research about controlling problem of seismic isolation structure between adjacent buildings.The main contents include:(1)This paper has summarized the mechanical properties and constitutive relationship of viscous dampers,and has also established numerical models of buildings with viscous dampers and buildings without viscous dampers.According to the analysis,we can know that viscous dampers can reduce the structures responding in earthquake.This paper has analyzed the advantages or disadvantages and applicable range of three kind of common rubber viscous dampers,analyzed the basic seismic isolation structure with numerical analysis which proved the isolation support can reduce the response of the structure in earthquake significantly.(2)The seismic isolation layer was set on different floors for researching how the location influences the seismic isolation ability of structures.This paper chose two kind of common seismic isolation support,researched different effect of different support in seismic isolation.The result showed that all the supports can reduce the response of structures though there's a little difference in the effect,and also showed that the different location of layers bring different effect in seismic isolation.(3)The seismic isolation ability of viscous dampers set in adjacent buildings has also been researched in this paper.Take that as foundations,established a finite element model of buildings with and without viscous dampers,by doing nonlinear time history analysis,this paper compared parameters of floor displacement before and after the time of installing viscous dampers to seismic isolation layers,inter-story acceleration and inter-story shear force.It's proved that set viscous dampers can reduce the response of structure in adjacent buildings.
