There are a large number of vehicles running on the road, and the shape of the road surface varies accordingly. Thus, this kinetic energy can be harvested to power electrical equipment along the road, and this energy harvesting technology has good environment adaptability because it will not be affected by the sun, wind,or other natural environmental factors.A permanent magnet linear generator is designed and tested for road kinetic energy harvesting,The generator is described by a single degree of freedom system model with free body.Whether the vehicle's wheel contact the top bar of the generator or not,we divide the working process of the generator into two stages: forced vibration and free vibration.Combined with the single degree of freedom system model,we can know law of two stages of the stater operation of the generators. On this basis,we analysis the response law of the system, frequency characteristic, electromechanical conversion efficiency and responsible characteristic of the power generation process, through researching the electromechanical coupling characteristics of the generator. The simulation program is compiled to simulate the power generation process of the generator. The magnetic field and the magnetic force are calculated by the finite element method. The simulation result shows that when the rotators obey the sinusoidal law,the output voltage shows frequency multiplication clearly. The test result reveals that the generator shows the non-linear characteristic on account of magnetic force. When simulating the rolling effect of the vehicle, the maximum peak-to-peak output power and average power of the output electromotive force are 472.9V and 205.7W after the car is rolled at the speed of 20km/h.Designing and manufacturing a prototype, burying the prototype in the ground,we rolled the car into generators in the road for testing. When the car passed the generator at a speed of 20km/h,the maximum peak-to-peak output power and average power of the output electromotive force(EMF)were 484.18 V and 255.1W,respectively.The analysis of amplitude and frequency characteristics of the experimental and calculated values of the output electromotive force shows that the maximum value of the electromotive always force appears around 20 Hz.The experimental results are in good agreement with the time-frequency characteristics and the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the calculated results, which shows that the proposed model and theoretical analysis method can well describe the operating law of the electromagnetic road pressure generator and lay a theoretical foundation for its application.
