The traffic problem is becoming more and more serrious because of the rapid development of city scale and the increasing of urban population.Metro,due to punctuality,fast,comfortable,enviroNˇmental protection and energy saving,has become the focus of the development of urban rail transit.Many cities have already started or are planning the construction of urban rail subway and light rail transit facilities,their vehicles are characterized with the new AC drive system.This paper focuses on the transformation of DC drive to AC drive system.DC chopper speed regulation and three-phase AC asynchronous transmission technology is utilized in DC driving system which has three kinds of brake form: regenerative braking,resistor braking and friction braking.Starting with constant-current and constant-current braking are adopted.The control of traction and braking is completed by the SIBAS16 system.Compared with the DC drive system,the AC drive system used in urban rail vehicles has incomparable superiority with large driving power,wide area of constant-power,high adhesion coefficient,good performance,high reliability,small harmonic interference,easy maintenance,etc.So the transformation of DC drive to AC drive system is adopted.The main circuit of AC drive system is mainly consisted of two parts: traction converter and auxiliary converter.The main circuit of traction converter mainly includes the high voltage electrical and energy release unit,the capacitor charging and discharging unit,filter unit,resistance braking and over-voltage suppression unit,inverter,asynchronous traction motor and test units,etc.Auxiliary converter is mainly composed of the auxiliary inverter(hereinafter referred to as SIV),DC-DC power supply,auxiliary isolation switch box.The controller of AC drive system that is the driving control unit(DCU),is Mainly to complete the control of the pantograph high-speed circuit breaker,the control of charge and discharge,the real-time control and adhesion control of the IGBT inverter and ac asynchronous traction motor.At the same time,The controller of AC drive system has the complete fault protection functions,the module-level self-diagnostic function and a certain degree of fault self-exclusion as well as part of the vehicle-level control functions,such as,the control of the traction/brake characteristics,the unlock logic control of main circuit,etc.In this paper,the traction and brake characteristics of the main device in AC drive system,which include the characteristics of Full-level position and Semi-level position,is tested on the platform and rolling bench.The results of test are plotted as characteristic curves.From the characteristic curves,the performance of the main device in AC drive system is good.
