During school hours,the traffic congestion around the elementary school campus caused by the student pick-up and drop-off problem has become more and more serious,not only affecting the personal safety of students but also bringing tremendous pressure to traffic throughout the city.So that city people have a strong desire to alleviate the traffic congestion around urban elementary schools,and the solution to this problem is not only the responsibility of the government but also need schools and families to give their efforts.This paper will do a full range of research in student Pick-up and Drop-off zone and discuss several methods to alleviate congestion in urban elementary schools from the architects p oint of view.First of all,this paper will analyze the research background and explores the specific reasons for congestion in urban elementary schools.Then it will define the scope of the research object through the interpretation of the concept of urban elementary school and the Pick-up and Drop-off area,and in the meantime analyze the actors,organization,and media of the Pick-up and Drop-off area,and clarify the design principles of the Pick-up and Drop-off area.Those will provide a basic and general direction of design control for the model design and scale quantification of the Pickup and Drop-off area of the urban elementary school.Secondly,the main body of the study is divided into two parts.Starting with the analysis of the development of the Pick-up and Drop-off area and for the detailed design in the Pick-up and Drop-off area of many elementary school cases in the country,the research is carried out in terms of functional composition,organization mode,streamline dynamics,etc,to complete the research of the model exploration of the Pick-up and Drop-off area of the urban elementary school;Then,dismantle and analyze the specific transportation status of the Pick-up and Drop-off area through the field survey of the current situation of the Pick-up and Drop-off area of the urban elementary school,and summarize the data of pick-up and drop-off;By studying the scale of the behavior of pick-up and drop-off,combined with the data of pick-up and drop-off,to summarize its quantitative calculation formula.In the end,combine with the model of the Pick-up and Drop-off area to obtain its quantitative index,and will confirm the feasibility of the data through comparison with the current situation of the case,to support its research conclusions.Finally,the paper selected Feicheng Hailiang Foreign Language School,Jinan Peking University New Century Primary School,and Cao County Panshi Subdistrict Office Central Primary School,as an empirical exploration of the design of the Pick-up and Drop-off area.According to the model and data support provided by the Pick-up and Drop-off area of the urban elementary school,the school conducts a detailed analysis of the school scale and site conditions,summarizes the specific demands of each schools P ick-up and Drop-off area,selects different Pickup and Drop-off area models,and calculates the corresponding area index is provided to complete the empirical application of the research theory.
