Switching power supply IC chips are widely used in battery-powered portable electronic products to provide different voltage regulation for different circuit modules.With the development of integrated circuits and the diversification of product functions in the market,the types and number of chips integrated in electronic products have increased.In order to meet the different power supply requirements of various chips,the number of circuit modules required for voltage transformation adjustment is increased,thereby causing severe power consumption problems and area problems.Therefore,the overall trend of the development of switching power supply IC chips is higher conversion efficiency and smaller area.Since the electronic products are often in a standby state,so the switching power supply circuit is idling and energy is wasted.These energies are mainly derived from the quiescent current of the converter,so it is of great significance for the research of converters with very low quiescent current.This paper first introduces the basic theory of BOOST converter,and analyzes the power consumption of the converter and the BOOST converter architecture with different modulation types.Based on this,a BOOST converter architecture with two modes of hybrid modulation is proposed.Secondly,the open-loop model of the BOOST converter with hysteresis current mode(HCM)modulation is established,and the compensation design is carried out according to SIMULINK software.Finally,based on the Dongbu 0.18 ?m BCD process,the module circuit of the converter proposed in this paper is built,and the function of the whole circuit is simulated and analyzed.This paper presents an architecture of a BOOST converter using HCM and Burst Mode(BM)hybrid modulation(HCM-BM).The architecture control circuit is simple,thus reducing the chip area.Under large load conditions,the converter operates under HCM and has low output voltage ripple.Under light load conditions,the converter enters BM and has high conversion efficiency.Meantime,at this stage,sleep mode is triggered to reduce the quiescent current of the converter.The converter takes into account the different performance requirements for different load intervals.In sleep mode,the converter only relies on the reference voltage generation circuit,a low-power comparator and some logic circuits to monitor the change of the output voltage.The other circuit modules are in the power-down state,and the converter has a quiescent current as low as 11 ?A.An adaptive modulation mode switching circuit is designed in this paper.The circuit is able to quickly react to changes in the load and help the converter enter the corresponding modulation mode.In this paper,the efficiency comparison simulation of HCM-BM modulation converter and HCM modulation converter is carried out.The simulation results show that the proposed converter can increase the maximum efficiency by 33% at light load compared with the traditional HCM converter,and it can achieve efficiencies of up to 75% under 50 ?A load.
