Research On The Commemorative Environmental Landscape Of "Silk Road" In Dunhuang

Nowadays,the faster pace of life due to rapid urbanization requires spiritual spaces that are elegant,harmonious and quiet.As an essential part of urban landscape that displays city image and people’s cultural life,commemorative landscape can reflect a city’s cultural heritage to some extent.Moreover,it also plays a significant role in cultural education by means of commemorating historic events or heroes of the city.Therefore,when it comes to the landscape of Dunhuang,an important part of the "Silk Road",high attention shall be paid to its historical atmosphere and cultural continuation so as to fully present the theme of"commemorating".As a vital component of city planning,commemorative landscape plays an indispensable role in historical education for the young generation and cultural atmosphere promotion for the city.In this context,it is of great worth to probe into how to make the best of the humanistic education and visual landscape function of the "Silk Road" commemorative landscape during the urban planning of Dunhuang.In this thesis,comprehensive analysis will be carried out on the type,development status and conformation of the "Silk Road" landscape based on the uniqueness of the "Silk Road"commemorative landscape together with domestic and foreign outstanding cases.Its existing problems will also be discussed through field investigation on its utilization and construction status and measures for its sustainable development will be proposed thereof.In addition,the function layout,environmental elements as well as plants configuration of commemorative landscape will be studied in the light of the design practice from the aspects of design principle,design method and design concept.It is hoped that the construction of commemorative landscape is able to further enhance the public’s understanding and memory of local culture and history,increase the cultural atmosphere as well as improve the city image and environment.
