With the rapid development of economy,our country is about to enter the era of big data and cloud computing,which makes the demand for data centers continuously increase.Some data show that in 2016,the total size of China's data center market has reached 71.45 billion yuan.A large number of IT equipment such as servers and the like are arranged in the data center,and the components with high calorific value are semiconductors of core components.In order to maintain the thermal environment of the computer room,huge amount of cold energy is required,resulting in the energy consumption of the cooling system being 25-30 times that of common public buildings.Therefore,the top priority is to reduce cooling energy consumption and make the data center more energy efficient.Cooling tower natural cooling technology,which uses outdoor cold sources(air,tap water,groundwater,river water,lake water)to bear part or all of the load of the system when the outdoor wet bulb temperature or dry bulb temperature is low,can reduce the operation time of water chillers and improve the energy utilization efficiency of the data center.It is a relatively efficient cooling scheme with extensive attention.The object of this paper is the supercomputing center,which is characterized by the need for cooling all year round and stable system load with little fluctuation.Under this background,this paper takes Jinan Center,the national supercomputing center,as the research object,compares and studies the energy-saving effects of three schemes of cooling tower closed direct free cooling,cooling tower open indirect free cooling and mechanical cooling,optimizes the system design parameters,and analyzes the energy-saving effects of the supercomputing center cooling towerindirect cooling system.Firstly,by studying the cooling temperature of chilled water,the switching temperature of cooling tower cooling,the theoretical cooling hours,etc.,the main influencing factors on the operating energy consumption of cooling tower cooling system are analyzed,and the variation of the operating energy consumption of cooling tower cooling system is obtained.Secondly,according to Jinan's outdoor wet bulb temperature,the system energy consumption under the three schemes of closed cooling tower direct cooling,open cooling tower plus plate for indirect cooling,and conventional mechanical cooling system is calculated respectively.The energy consumption is compared,and the energy saving and economic analysis of the system is carried out to select the best operation scheme.So as to analyze the environmental benefits of the optimal operation scheme,the power consumption saved by the system reduces the consumption of fossil fuels,thus reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases,smoke dust,coal cinder and the like,reducing the pollution to the environment,reducing the generation of smog and improving the air quality.The system conforms to China's energy conservation and emission reduction policies.Finally,the design parameters of the system are optimized,and an optimization scheme for increasing the cooling temperature of chilled water is put forward.The cooling temperature of chilled water is increased from 9? to 12?.Through the calculation of energy consumption and energy saving rate of natural cooling,the energy consumption saved by the open cooling tower plus plate exchange indirect cooling system and its influence on the energy saving potential of natural cooling system are analyzed under different cooling temperatures of chilled water.
