With the increasingly fierce market competition and the diversification of product demand,the structure and function of all kinds of products are becoming more and more complex,and the technical content of product development and design is becoming higher and higher,which leads to huge pressure on enterprises in product design cost,development cycle and other aspects.The variant design method based on mature design products and design schemes can quickly respond to the changing market,shorten product design cycle,reduce enterprise development cost and improve product quality.Through the variant design of mature products,the existing resources of the enterprise can be reused to the greatest extent.If we want to realize variant design,we need a knowledge system to describe all information of the product.Because the decision support that experts can get from computer system is quite different from the support that novice designers can get,the latter only grasps some basic knowledge of product design and needs to get more knowledge from the system,but few knowledge-based computer systems can recognize the difference and provide appropriate variant design decision support.Nowadays,the design of engineering system is more and more considered as a decision-making process.One of the main decision-making roles of designers is to help make correct decisions.Therefore,by providing certain decision support for professional designers and users,designers can speed up the product design process and effectively promote the creation of high-quality,cost-effective design.The decision-making process is a complex knowledge intensive process.Knowledge plays an important role in accelerating the decision-making process and influencing the product design decision-making.Design decision technology in engineering design is applied to product variant design to provide decision support at the knowledge level for variant design decision-making,and provide appropriate variant design decision support for users and designers with different knowledge levels.Through the design and development of three-dimensional software,designers can complete various variant designs according to customer requirements.To a great extent,it improves the design efficiency of products,reduces the repetitive design,saves the design and development costs of related products for more enterprises,and shortens the three-dimensional software design and development cycle of related products.The main contents and emphases of this paper are as follows:(1)The framework of variant design theory based on ontology design decision.In order to make effective decisions for product designers in the process of specific product variant design,and provide effective decision support,this paper adopts the method of design decision to make decisions on specific product variant design problems,and puts forward thetheoretical framework of variant design based on ontology design decision.The framework first describes the decision-making knowledge in the process of product variant design from a macro perspective,and then constructs an ontology based variant design decision-making knowledge template by using decision-making support problem technology(including selection decision-making support problem technology,compromise decision-making support problem technology and coupling decision-making support problem technology)Product information is used for decision-making.Finally,product decision-making knowledge is represented by ontology,which is convenient for designers to manage and apply variant design knowledge and decision-making knowledge systematically.The theoretical framework provides theoretical support for the realization of product variant design from the knowledge level.(2)Variant design knowledge expression based on ontology.For variant design based on ontology design decision,the reasonable classification of knowledge can effectively strengthen the management and reuse of knowledge.Therefore,by analyzing the knowledge generated in the process of variant design,a general product knowledge model is constructed,which can face the knowledge management of all kinds of complex products.At the same time,the knowledge model based on ontology should meet the requirements of design decision-making and variant design,and have certain universality.Design rules need effective management and reuse for knowledge reasoning process.At last,the knowledge model is verified by the utility boiler damper.(3)Knowledge-oriented design decision.Based on the decision-making knowledge model established previously,aiming at various design problems and decision-making problems existing in the process of product variant design,a general design decision template is constructed to make comprehensive decision on product knowledge,which can make effective comprehensive decision on different types of product design knowledge,and finally realize the automatic update of product parameters to complete quickly Product variant design.Finally,the reliability and practicability of the variable design decision-making template are verified by taking the damper of a type of adjustable two shaft power plant boiler as an example.(4)Research on variant design method based on design decision.Based on the design decision-making template driven by relevant product knowledge,the main parameters(i.e.the types and key parameters of customized products)driven directly by customized products are taken as independent variables,and the main parameters(i.e.other parameters of products)driven indirectly by customized products are taken as dependent variables(function values).The types of products and key parameters that need to be obtained also change when the customer's requirements for customized products change.Based on the product type and thereal-time change of the key parameters,by using the parameter driven mechanism to adjust the size and constraints of the solid model,the computer automatically generates the type and size chain of the new design product,and realizes the automatic update of the designer's design knowledge of different types of products.(5)Design and implementation of variant design system.Based on SolidWorks,a variant design system based on ontology design decision was developed,and the system was summarized and its functions were described.Take a certain type of power plant boiler damper as an example to verify the
