In the process of automobile development,electric vehicles have attracted more and more attention due to their advantages of green environment protection,simple structure,strong practicability and high energy utilization.The drive axle,as an important load-bearing parts of automobile and an important power-transmission system,needs to bear complex working loads.At the same time,many failure forms will occur due to the long-term load wear of the drive axle housing,so the drive axle must meet enough stiffness,strength and fatigue performance requirements.Semi-floating drive axle is widely used in electric vehicles.In this paper,the stiffness,strength and fatigue performance of a semi-floating half draft drive axle are studied.The main research work in this paper is as follows:According to the design drawing of a semi-floating half draft structure drive axle provided by the manufacturer,the 3D model of drive axle housing,half draft,suspension and main reducer were established with CATIA software,and the assembly of each part was carried out in the CATIA assembly design module.According to the actual stress characteristics of the semi-floating drive axle and considering the influence of the components of the rear suspension system,the stress conditions of the drive axle housing and semi-floating drive shaft were analyzed.Finite element static analysis of the rear axle housing was carried out.The simulation analysis of driving axle housing and semi-floating drive shaft under typical working conditions and the static torsion simulation on the semi-floating drive shaft were carried out by finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench.The simulation results showed that driving axle housing and semi-floating drive shaft meet the design requirements on strength and stiffness.Based on the results of static finite element analysis and relevant standards of fatigue test,the fatigue life of the drive axle housing was calculated by combining the fatigue load spectrum of the drive axle housing and the s-n curve of the drive axle housing.Then,the Fatigue life of drive axle housing and half axle was worked out by Fatigue tool of ANSYS Workbench.The simulation results showed that the fatigue life of the axle housing and the axle meet the relevant requirements.
