Highways which constructed on soft soil foundation would face severe settlement and uneven settlement after construction,because of the poor engineering properties of soft soil.If proper evaluation and maintenance could not be implemented in time,driving quality or even safety of the crew will be affected.Proper evaluation and maintenance play an important role in improving the quality of highway service,people’s travel quality and even living standards.At present,the number of new-built highways in China is gradually decreasing,and the focus of work in the future will gradually shift to the reconstruction,expansion and maintenance of highways.In order to introduce driving quality into evaluation and maintenance of highways constructed in soft soil area,this paper carried out specific work in the following three aspects:Firstly,based on Hangjinqu expressway and Hangning expressway,the ISO2631 standard was introduced into the evaluation and maintenance.Then this paper proposed the calculation method and parameter selection criteria of overall driving quality evaluation.DCI is proposed to represent the cumulation of discomfort in an evaluation unit.The rationality of using a single vehicle model in evaluation is proved by experiments and theoretical analysis.Furthermore,this paper compared the overall driving quality evaluation method proposed in this paper with IRI method and analysed the applicability,advantages and disadvantages of the two methods.Secondly,the evaluation method and the simple evaluation criteria of road-bridge transition zone are achieved by introducing driving comfort into evaluation.Through theoretical research,it is found that the length of the bridge will affect the driving comfort,so this paper suggest to adopt more strict criteria for short bridges.Combining the experience of maintenance design of bridge transition zone at home and abroad with the research results of this paper,a simple maintenance design method is proposed.It uses vertical curve length,vertical curve radius and slope difference as the main control measures,and can meet the maintenance needs of various settlement modes.Thirdly,this paper use smart phone and Internet to carry out the experiment of intelligent detection of municipal roads’ driving quality.It is mainly divided into local and overall driving quality evaluations.Local driving quality evaluation can provide precise problem location for maintenance departments.The overall driving quality evaluation methods provide a macroscopic perspective for the supervision and maintenance departments to analyse the overall driving quality of municipal roads.
