With the development of transportation construction, our nation`s highway netsalso been extended to the western mountain area. However, because of economicbackwardness and the rugged terrain, western mountain road have such problem: pooralignment, extensive management, lack of facilities and other issues.Which causeserious accidents happen frequently and the t casualties often is disastrous andeconomic development has also been severely restricted.Long downhill mountain roadusually is accident-prone sections. Although a variety of means can be used to protectthe safe driving of vehicle downhill section, but these measures is mutually isolated,unable to form a system. Set the emergency lane is considered the most effectivesecurity measures, but the lack of relevant technical norms which is consider to guidingits design.To solve these problems, mountain highway accidents are investigated by us.Wefind out the characteristics-which is about the cause and the accident vehicle ofmountainous highway accidents.Then, by vehicles theory, we analyze the drivingdynamics of downhill vehicle and set up corresponding theoretical model of braketemperature. Next combined with the existing design theory, the theoretical model issimplified. Through real vehicle test, we verify the correctness of the theoretical modeland the simplified model. Next,we put forward the concept car road–coupling safety,and established the longitudinal car road–coupling safety model.On this basis,weestablished vehicle-road coupling safety evaluation model. Finally, based on thevehicle-road coupling safety evaluation model, we explore the ways to improve theexisting design theory.The vehicle-road coupling safety evaluation mode not only can be applied to hedgelane setting,it can also be applied to optimize the design of road alignment.It haveconsiderable research value and practical meaning...
