As the development strategies including "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and "Yangtze River Economic Belt" were proposed in China,the trade relationship between China and the rest countries of the world have been closer and the water transportation has been busier.Therefore,the navigation pharos,a navigational facility,has become more and more important to ensure the safe navigation for ships during water transportation.At present,in most of the navigation pharos,GPRS,GSM or AIS is used for communication while GPS is used for positioning.Beidou satellite navigation system(BDS)has been vigorously promoted in China thus widely applied in many transportation fields such as water transportation,land transportation,air transportation,etc.In this paper,Beidou communication positioning technology was investigated in the telemetry and remote control system of navigation pharos.The study mainly focused on the following aspects:In this paper,based on the literature review on both the telemetry and remote control technology of the navigation pharos and the Beidou communication positioning technology,the advantages and significance of applying Beidou communication positioning technology to the telemetry and remote control system of navigation pharos were discussed.In addition,the data communication protocol of Beidou users,the NMEA0183 protocol,and the pseudorange positioning method were studied.Finally,the overall scheme of the system was determined considering the functions to be realized by the system.Hardware and software of the system were designed.In hardware,the navigation pharos was equipped with STM32 as a controller.The Beidou communication positioning module was implanted for both positioning of the navigation pharos and communication between the navigation pharos and the management center via Beidou short-message communication.In software,the navigation pharos management software based on C/S framework was developed as a tool for human-computer interaction using Visual Studio 2017.The software can be used to indicate the status of the navigation pharos and send control commands from the management center to the navigation pharos.In addition,a user database of the navigation pharos management software was established using the database software SQL Server 2008.The user database can be used to store the user name and password,and manage the permissions of navigation pharos management software.A pilot test on the system was performed.Based on the test results,the navigation pharos had the function of reporting status to the navigation pharos management center,the navigation pharos management software was capable of displaying the status of the navigation pharos,and the system can remotely sense and control the navigation pharos.Compared with the traditional telemetry and remote control system of the navigation pharos,the developed system in this paper has more reliable positioning function based on either single-modality positioning system(GPS or BDS)or dual-modality joint positioning system.In addition,the system used Beidou short-message communication method and addressed influence of signal quality in GPRS,GSM or AIS base stations on the communication.Thus the system has high communication reliability,wide signal coverage,etc.
