Marine transportation is the most important mode of transportation in international trade,more than two-thirds of the total volume of international trade,and the vast majority of China's import or export goods,are completed through maritime transport.IMO and many countries have enacted emissions control regulations,such as limiting the sulphur content of fuel in a certain area,setting up emission control zones for sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides to reduce the environmental impact of ship emissions.At the beginning of 2019,influenced by geopolitics and US global economic policies,the global trading environment also changed.The global container transport is also affected,and the rapidly growing container throughput of ports in previous years is bound to be unsustainable.Maersk predicts that global seaborne container traffic will slow in 2019 and growth will fall to 1?3%.For shipbuilding enterprises,how to continue to survive in the increasingly fierce competition,they must think about trying to control costs,and constantly improve their own design level,to win the trust of customers,and continue to obtain orders.Therefore,the major shipyards,equipment suppliers,as well as ship design units,are constantly strengthening the research and application of ship energy-saving technology,which is also the meaning of this paper.This paper mainly focuses on the research of energy-saving technology of large ships,firstly introduces the energy distribution and efficiency of fuel utilization of marine engines,and makes clear the form and proportion of waste heat existence,which is a good basis for the later research.Secondly,the conventional waste heat recovery technology is introduced,and the exhaust gas energy and proportion used in conventional waste heat recovery technology are quantified;And then the improvement methods of energy saving technology of large ship exhaust gas and shaft generator are studied;And the effect of waste heat utilization after using various energy-saving technologies is analyzed,including the waste heat recovery method and effect of exhaust gas system and the selection&effect of propulsion system shaft generator technology.Finally,the influence of waste heat utilization and shaft generator on ship EEDI index is also studied.These studies provide more ideas and guidance for the research and design of energy saving of large ships,hoping to improve the technical level of ship energy-saving design through the application of these technologies,which will benefit Green shipbuilding and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
